Job Description:

A leading mission-based organization in the North Georgia region is seeking a seasoned Senior Director to lead executive-level operations and Board relations within the Office of the CEO. This individual will work at the heart of the organization's leadership team, ensuring that strategic priorities, internal initiatives, and governance activities are executed with precision and impact.

This role will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, manage high-level communications and reporting, and provide structure to cross-functional projects that align with the organization's long-term goals.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead planning and execution for Board and committee meetings, including communications, materials, agenda coordination, logistics, and follow-up  
  • Work closely with executive leadership to shape and track progress on the organization's strategic plan, including metrics reporting and initiative alignment  
  • Manage special projects for the CEO and ensure operational efficiency across the executive office  
  • Serve as the main point of contact for Board engagement, including supporting recruitment efforts, maintaining governance records, and advising on Board development  
  • Oversee workflows and planning tools that improve agency-wide project management and internal collaboration  
  • Supervise a Project Coordinator and provide guidance to executive support staff in the CEO's absence  
  • Maintain and monitor department-level budgets for strategic planning and Board initiatives  
  • Represent the CEO in select internal and external settings as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred (MBA, MPA, JD, or similar)  
  • 5+ years in executive support, governance, strategy, or operations roles-nonprofit experience is a strong plus  
  • Deep understanding of Board operations and governance procedures  
  • Proven track record managing high-level projects with cross-functional teams  
  • Strong communicator with professional presence and discretion  
  • Excellent command of office technology (MS Office Suite, project management tools, etc.)  
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, mission-driven setting with evolving priorities

Additional Details

  • Must be able to work in the office a minimum of 3 days per week  
  • Occasional travel required within the Greater Atlanta and North Georgia area  
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
