About the Opportunity

The Manager, Legal Technology & Operations leads the strategy and execution of technology and operational initiatives supporting the legal department and broader business functions. This role drives automation, operational efficiency, and cost savings by collaborating across multiple departments including procurement, accounting, HR, sales, IT, and engineering. It is critical to scaling processes that align with organizational growth and fostering innovation at the intersection of law, operations, and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic planning and execution of legal and business operations initiatives focused on automating legal processes at scale.
  • Design and deploy efficient, customer-centric operational methods within Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, accounting, HR, sales, deal desk, IT, engineering, and enterprise systems teams.
  • Identify, implement, and optimize emerging legal technology systems and resolve technical issues.
  • Implement procurement practices that generate cost savings, integrating systems such as Oracle, Zip, Salesforce, and Workday with CLM.
  • Manage the eBilling system and ensure adherence to billing guidelines.
  • Participate in RFPs and law firm evaluations to increase accountability and cost savings.
  • Facilitate internal communication and promote adoption of innovative processes across the business.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in legal operations, strategy & operations, or related fields managing technology systems and cross-functional programs.
  • Proven leadership of at least two end-to-end technology implementations with deep system integrations (e.g., Ironclad, Zip, Salesforce, CPQ, Oracle, Workday).
  • Strong analytical and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills working across legal, finance, IT, and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a high-growth tech or similarly dynamic environment, building and scaling operations.
  • Previous management or team leadership experience.
  • Familiarity with Go-To-Market operations, deal desk workflows, or sales process infrastructure.
  • Experience conducting vendor RFPs, law firm evaluations, or managing external legal spend.
  • Ability to identify automation opportunities and lead change management efforts.
  • Strong interest in leveraging emerging technologies, including AI-powered tools, to enhance legal and business operations.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation

Base salary ranges are determined by the candidate's geographic location:

  • CA, NY, CT, NJ: $172,000 — $181,500 USD per year.
  • WA: $165,000 — $174,000 USD per year.
  • OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, HI: $158,000 — $166,500 USD per year.
  • All Other States: $143,000 — $151,000 USD per year.
  • Note: Final offers vary based on candidate experience and skills.
