You will oversee all legal operations, manage external counsel, and coordinate a nationwide network of attorneys—making a tangible impact on clients’ lives while ensuring the company navigates complex regulatory environments with agility and confidence. Required Skills
- Licensed attorney (California Bar or active license in any U.S. state) with 5–7 years of legal experience.
- Proven experience managing outside counsel and negotiating contracts with vendors and partners.
- Strong understanding of estate, probate law, and regulatory considerations, including Unlawful Practice of Law (UPL).
- Exceptional operational skills with the ability to build and refine legal processes and systems.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness and ability to work independently with high autonomy.
- Strong judgment in balancing innovation and compliance within a regulated industry.
Nice To Have Skills
- Prior experience managing or working extensively with a network of attorneys across multiple jurisdictions.
- Familiarity with legal technology platforms and legal operations tools.
- Experience working within or adjacent to a high-growth startup or fintech environment.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulatory landscapes related to estate administration and legal gray areas.
Preferred Education And Experience
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Previous experience in estate planning, probate, or related legal practice is advantageous.
- Demonstrated success in building or scaling legal operations within a multi-state or multi-jurisdictional context.
