Global Legal and Compliance Director
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Corporate Counsel/Director of Legal and Compliance Affairs to join our team. This position is responsible for overseeing all legal and compliance matters for the organization, ensuring that our operations adhere to relevant laws and regulations while minimizing risk. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate law and compliance, and will play a crucial role in shaping our legal strategies and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal guidance on corporate governance, compliance, and risk management matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts to protect the company's interests.
- Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Manage and resolve legal disputes and litigation matters.
- Conduct due diligence in support of mergers and acquisitions activities.
- Provide legal advice on employment law issues and policies.
- Lead the development and implementation of compliance programs and training.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in legislation relevant to the business.
- Advise on intellectual property matters and ensure protection of company assets.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and enforce corporate policies.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in corporate law, compliance, and legal affairs.
- Strong knowledge of compliance regulations and risk management practices.
- Proven experience in contract negotiation and drafting.
- Familiarity with intellectual property and employment law issues.
- Experience in litigation and dispute resolution.
- Excellent legal writing and research skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex legal projects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
