Contract Manager
Position Summary:
An IT Consulting Government Contractor in McLean, VA is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Federal Contracts Manager to oversee all aspects of their government contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other applicable regulations. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage the contract lifecycle cradle to grave, ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and serve as a strategic partner to internal teams and government clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the cradle to grave, full life cycle of government contracts (pre-award, award, post-award, closeout)
- Administer contract and subcontract activities for a variety of vehicles and contract types- including T&M, FFP, CPFF
- Review and negotiate terms and conditions for government contracts, subcontracts, NDAs, and teaming agreements
- Interpret and ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, agency supplements, and contract-specific requirements
- Support proposal development teams in responding to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs
- Prepare contract documentation, including contract modifications, extensions, and task orders
- Maintain organized and up-to-date contract files in accordance with internal procedures and audit requirements
- Coordinate with project managers, legal counsel, finance, and operations to support contract execution and performance
- Monitor and report on contract performance, deliverables, funding, and invoicing
- Advise leadership on contract risks, obligations, and opportunities for growth
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Contracts Management, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in federal contracts management, preferably with IT or technology-related contracts
- Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other applicable federal procurement regulations
- Proven experience with GSA Schedules, IDIQs, GWACs, BPAs, and task order management
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in contract management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- NCMA certification (e.g., CPCM, CFCM)
- Experience with IT services or cybersecurity-related contracts
- Familiarity with contract compliance audits (e.g., DCAA, DCMA)
- Working knowledge of ERP systems
