Subcontract Manager
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Subcontracts Manager to lead and manage all aspects of subcontract administration in a dynamic DoD-focused government contracting environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and strong experience supporting Department of Defense programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full subcontract lifecycle including RFP development, source selection, negotiations, award, administration, and closeout.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable FAR, DFARS, and organizational policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Contracts, Procurement, Program Management, Finance, and Legal teams to support successful project execution.
- Draft, review, and negotiate subcontracts, task orders, NDAs, and teaming agreements.
- Monitor subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and cost.
- Maintain audit-ready subcontract files and documentation.
- Support cost proposal activities and provide input to pricing strategies.
- Evaluate subcontractor risk and implement mitigation strategies.
- Mentor and support junior subcontract staff as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Contracts, or a related field.
- 5+ years of subcontracts management experience in the GovCon space, specifically supporting DoD contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other relevant federal regulations.
- Proven ability to manage complex subcontracts in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with cost-reimbursable, fixed-price, and T&M subcontract types.
- Proficient in contract/subcontract management systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, SAP, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active DoD security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- NCMA certification (e.g., CPCM, CFCM).
- Experience with small business subcontracting and compliance.
- Background working with major DoD agencies (e.g., Army, Navy, Air Force, DISA)
