Description

As a Corporate Paralegal/Legal Analyst you will be responsible for performing a variety of complex legal-related tasks individually and alongside other members of the Greif Legal Team and apply independent judgment in determining courses of action required to complete assignments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer matters relating to subsidiary governance and legal entity maintenance: prepare corporate resolutions, minutes, powers of attorney and other documentation relating to U.S. and Non-U.S. subsidiaries
  • Maintain confidential corporate documentation including minute books, organizational documents and records
  • Arrange for a variety of documents to be signed by executives and/or directors related to U.S. and Non-U.S. subsidiaries (original ink signatures and through DocuSign)
  • Maintain CSC (Corporation Service Company) Entity Management System, keep it updated with changes of directors and officers for the subsidiaries, upload documents into the system
  • Assist in-house legal team and outside counsel with real estate, merger & acquisition and financing transactions
  • Administer the Company’s customer and vendor sanctions review platform
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining document sharing sites, as requested
  • Maintain the Company’s intellectual property database, and work with outside patent and trademark counsel on US and overseas filings
  • Respond to internal and external (subpoena) requests for corporate information and documents in collaboration with other Greif colleagues
  • Administer legal hold process and assist in tracking litigation matters
  • Assist Director, Employment Law in drafting responses to government charges
  • Responsible for support related to litigation, mediation/arbitration, and responses to complaints
  • Serve as primary corporate contact with respect to the Company’s Record Retention Policy
  • Support, participate, and engage in Legal Department initiatives
  • Perform corporate and other research
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or a paralegal certificate
  • Minimum 3 years of corporate support experience as a Paralegal or Legal Specialist at a law firm or in-house legal department

Knowledge And Skills

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and a commitment to professionalism, collegiality and customer service
  • Superior organization skills and ability to manage documents
  • Excellent writing and editing ability as well as superior attention to detail
  • Ability to support the Greif Legal Team with a variety of sophisticated legal subject matter areas in a dynamic business environment
  • Ability to work in a detail-oriented work environment utilizing excellent judgment and decision-making skills to close out tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to juggle varied and demanding workload and to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Pragmatic and energetic personality, resourceful and solutions-oriented
  • Self-starter, self-confident and projects confidence to others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, technology savvy and capable of learning and working in multiple other software platforms
