Overview of Position

Reportable to the Director of Nursing, the overall purpose of the Program Specialist/Regulatory Officer is to serve as a Program Specialist with a specialization to ensure regulatory compliance within service delivery and state licensure regulations. This position will be responsible for standard Program Specialist duties including the tracking, coordination, and accurate completion of assessments and Individual Support Plans (ISPs). This position will monitor the assigned community home to ensure ongoing compliance with the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) and The Arc's policy and procedure. This position will also ensure that assigned community program(s) operate within budget, that employees are suited to the needs of the program, and that employees are appropriately trained and supported in their job duties. In addition, the Program Specialist/Regulatory Officer will work to ensure regulatory compliance including but not limited to: Quality Assurance and Improvement (QA&I), ODP 6400 Regulations, 6100 Regulations, Policy & Procedure Manual, Quality Management, Provider Qualifications, Consolidated/Community Living/PFDS Waivers & Amendments, etc. This employee will also independently complete, review and disseminate information in relation to regulatory changes, guidance, investigations and audits. The Program Specialist/Regulatory Officer will promote high-quality programming and will work collaboratively with direct care employees, administrative colleagues, and outside sources to devise proposals to enhance The Arc's services. The overall goal of the Program Specialist/Regulatory Officer is to carry out The Arc of Centre County's mission - to embody and protect the human rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and to practice person-centered planning which actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree or above from an accredited college or university and one (1) year work experience working directly with persons with an intellectual disability. 
  • OR A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years work experience working directly with persons with an intellectual disability. 
  • OR An Associates' Degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years work experience working directly with persons with an intellectual disability.
