The legal team within the organization acts as a strategic partner focused on enabling business growth, innovation, and operational excellence while managing risk. It collaborates across multiple departments to maintain a trusted, compliant, and scalable marketplace, supporting product design, transactions, and new initiatives.

1. About the Opportunity:

The Legal Operations Manager role is essential for maintaining and improving the legal team’s operational infrastructure. This position ensures that systems, vendor relationships, finances, and workflows function efficiently, enabling attorneys to concentrate on higher-value legal work. The role drives measurable improvements in efficiency, cost management, and quality across legal operations, overseeing areas such as e-billing, outside counsel management, contract systems, and knowledge management. The position requires both detailed operational management and strategic thinking about integrating new technologies like AI to modernize legal processes.

1. Responsibilities:

• Manage outside counsel and vendor relationships, including matter lifecycle, billing guideline enforcement, invoice approval, monthly accruals, and onboarding new firms  

• Administer contract management system access, NDA workflows, signer requests, and group management  

• Handle accounts payable reconciliation and finance reporting, including forecasts, budget tracking, settlement payments, and insurance procurement  

• Oversee legal mail routing to ensure timely and accurate distribution across relevant teams  

• Manage and optimize the legal technology stack and lead evaluation and integration of AI tools  

• Maintain and enhance knowledge management systems and support onboarding and due diligence efforts  

• Design and implement improvements to legal workflows, define and track metrics, and collaborate cross-functionally to develop scalable solutions  

1. Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in legal operations, paralegal work, or related legal/business operations, preferably within a technology company  

• Practical experience with e-billing and matter management platforms (e.g., Legal Tracker) and contract lifecycle management tools (e.g., Ironclad)  

• Strong financial skills including invoice processing, budget tracking, accounts payable reconciliation, and accrual management  

• Demonstrated interest and expertise in AI and legal technology, with experience using AI tools to improve legal processes  

• Excellent organizational abilities with attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently  

• Effective communication skills and a service-oriented approach, trusted by attorneys and cross-functional partners to deliver accurate and timely results  

• Proven success in improving legal processes or systems with measurable impact on efficiency, cost, or quality  

1. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• For candidates in San Francisco / Bay Area, San Jose, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range is $119,000 to $154,000  

• For candidates in Austin, TX or Washington DC metros or in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Washington states, the expected salary range is $107,100 to $138,600  

• For candidates in all other US locations, the expected salary range is $101,200 to $130,900  

Actual offers will vary based on job level calibration, qualifications, skills, and competencies.
