The Opportunity

HealthEZ is seeking a Legal Operations & Compliance Analyst to support its legal, regulatory, and compliance services for its internal and external stakeholders. The Legal Operations & Compliance Analyst will play a key role in helping HealthEZ navigate the complex regulatory environment and guiding the organization as it builds internal processes to these evolving legal requirements.

This position will sit within the Legal team and report to the General Counsel. Hybrid eligible after 90 days of employment and approval from the General Counsel.

What you will do:

Legal Operations  

  • Build and manage processes for intake, evaluation, and responses to external legal requests, including subpoenas, court orders, and other requests for company records  
  • Assist the Legal team in conducting HIPAA breach assessments and breach analysis  
  • Support the Legal team in responding to data privacy inquiries from internal and external stakeholders  
  • Assist in preparing reports, summaries, and other data presentations for the Legal and Executive Teams  
  • Support internal and external audit requests as needed

Legal and Regulatory Research  

  • Conduct legal and regulatory research and support on topics relevant to Company business, focusing specifically on administration of self-funded health plans, including ERISA, HIPAA, the ACA, MHPAEA, and other applicable state and federal laws.  
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that affect self-funded health plans and prepare summaries and presentations for the Legal team and other internal stakeholders  
  • Research and respond to regulatory and compliance questions submitted by internal stakeholders  
  • Assist in developing and maintaining compliance policies, procedures, and training materials.  

Contract Review & Administration  

  • Work with internal lawyers to assist in their review of customer and vendor contracts.  
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to build contract review playbooks  
  • Perform basic contract updates and redline review, under the direction of Company attorneys.  

Qualifications

What we expect from you  

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to job duties  
  • 3-5 years work experience in a corporate regulatory, compliance, or legal department  
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills  
  • Self-motivated, independent worker that can take ownership of assignments and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Preferred  

  • Prior experience in legal operations or an in-house legal department.  
  • Familiarity with contract management and legal research software  
  • Prior experience working for a healthcare payer, such as a TPA, health insurance company, or managed care organization

  • Demonstrated ability to independently prioritize tasks and manage workloads with competing demands.

Additional Opportunity Details:

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $80,000-$95,000*
