Position Description
Primary Focus
The primary focus of the role, based in Radisson Hotel Group’s global headquarters in Brussels, will be to support the global business units, including business development, asset management, operations, sales and marketing, procurement, technical & engineering, distribution, IT, loyalty, and digital, and in those areas for which the (Senior) Director, Legal will be the primary point of contact.
Geographic Scope and Areas of Responsibility
As the primary focus will be on supporting global business units, the geographical scope will include projects in EMEA and APAC, and areas of responsibility may shift depending on the needs of the legal department and the organization.
Collaboration
The role will work closely with the teams of the Chief Development Officer, Senior Vice President Asset Management, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Senior Vice President Procurement, and the regional Senior Area Vice Presidents, as well as other departments.
Requirements
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on heads of terms, hotel lease agreements, commercial agreements, procurement agreements, IT agreements, license agreements, management agreements, technical assistance services agreements, and ancillary contracts.
- Work closely with global business teams to identify and remove barriers to finalizing contracts in accordance with the company’s standards and assist those teams with the contracting work and negotiations.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and advise business teams on contracts and other legal matters relating to the hotel operations and in the field of IP/IT.
- Draft notices of breach. Initiate, coordinate, and instruct external counsel on court or arbitration procedures and assist the operations teams in reaching settlements with owners.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and advise other teams on various contracts with business partners and service providers.
- Draft, review, and implement policies, procedures, and business practices and ensure understanding and compliance by relevant departments.
- Assist with the annual improvements of contract templates to ensure that we capture best practices and the developments in the hospitality industry.
Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities
- Minimum 4-5+ years of experience in an international law firm or legal practice of an international company with relevant expertise and willingness to travel when required.
- Master in Law from an European university; preferably supported by an LL.M in another European country or in the U.S.
- Fluency in English language.
- Knowledge of another language/s is an asset.
- Ability to function independently under high pressure and tight time frames.
- Ability to work as a commercially minded lawyer and business partner alongside business teams.
