Function Overview

The Group Legal and Commercial Function is tasked with the key objective of protecting the Flutter brand, its customers and shareholders. The function comprises a number of core areas including legal, risk, compliance and regulatory - including the Group strategy and roadmap for Safer Gambling – a key component of the Group’s strategy. The Function will influence the strategic direction of the Group’s four Divisions (US, Aus, UK/I and International) by setting the risk appetite and establishing the necessary governance, policies and standards to ensure our legal, risk, compliance and regulatory matters are managed in a robust and agile manner.

Role Purpose

The role of the Flutter Entertainment Plc (“Flutter” or “the Group”) Compliance function is to support, advise and enable the compliant delivery of the Group’s strategic objectives across its brands (“Divisions”).The Group Compliance team is responsible for facilitating the creation of a culture of compliance, defining the Group’s compliance framework and for monitoring and reporting on the management of Group compliance activities (excluding financial crime). The Group Head of Regulatory Compliance will play an essential role supporting the Group Compliance team in building effective collaborative relationship across the Group while ensuring appropriate processes, systems and structures are in place for the development and lifecycle management of the Group’s financial crime compliance objectives. The holder of the role will be expected to travel occasionally

You Can Expect To Get Involved In

  •  Regulatory Compliance Strategy: Developing and implementing a comprehensive regulatory compliance strategy to ensure the company's adherence to relevant laws and regulations in various jurisdictions. Further, working with the Head of Regulatory Policy and other stakeholders to understand regulatory changes and trends in order to proactively address potential compliance challenges. 
  •  Regulatory Compliance Monitoring: Leading the regulatory compliance monitoring function and staying updated on the latest developments in laws, regulations, and licensing requirements. Analyzing the impact of new regulations on the company's operations and providing recommendations for necessary adjustments for maintaining compliance. 
  •  Policy Development and Implementation: Collaborating with internal teams for establishing and implementing company policies that align with regulatory compliance requirements (excluding gambling and ESG policy development). 
  •  Regulatory Liaison: From time to rime, a point of contact with regulatory authorities, industry bodies, and external legal advisors, representing the company's interests and fostering positive relationships. 
  •  Divisional Support: Supporting Flutter Divisions in adhering to regulatory expectations as well as Flutter Minimum Standards. 
  •  Regulatory Compliance Reporting: Preparing and presenting regulatory compliance reports to senior management and relevant stakeholders, ensuring transparent and accurate communication to internal and external stakeholders. 
  •  Risk Assessments: Coordinating and supporting internal and external audits related to regulatory compliance. In addition, handling any regulatory investigations and responding to compliance inquiries from regulatory bodies. 
  •  Issue Management & Escalation: Identifying potential areas of non-compliance and escalating any issues to the relevant stakeholders or subject matter specialists, whenever necessary. 
  •  Other: other responsibilities as will be assigned from time to time 

Key Skills And Experience

  •  Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, or a related field. A Master's degree or additional certifications in regulatory affairs would be advantageous. 
  •  Proven experience (10+ years) in a senior regulatory compliance role within the online gaming or gambling industry. 
  •  In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks, laws, and standards related to online gaming, including gambling licenses and responsible gaming practices. 
  •  Proactive, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. 
  •  Leadership and team management experience, with ability to motivate regulatory professionals 
  •  Comfortable working in a federated compliance model with close collaboration across functions. 
  •  Highly organized with a keen attention to detail to ensure timely compliance submissions.

  •  Creative and adaptive approach to devising and developing Policies, Procedures, training and other awareness initiatives to build expertise across the department. 
  •  Ability to proactively identify issues and associated risks, along with credibly challenging and providing practical solutions to a wide range of issues.
