Job Overview:

The Director, Contracts Specialist will be responsible for leading and executing the contract lifecycle management process for the organization, with a primary focus on pharmacy-related agreements. This role ensures the efficient, accurate, and compliant negotiation, drafting, review, and administration of a broad range of contracts including commercial agreements, vendor agreements, client service contracts, and industry-specific arrangements. The ideal candidate will possess deep familiarity with healthcare contracting, preferably in a pharmacy, GPO, or health information technology (HIT) environment. This role may be performed by a candidate with a Paralegal Certificate or with equivalent relevant experience in legal or contract administration, with a proven track record of managing complex contracts and leading cross-functional negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the full lifecycle of contract management, from intake and drafting through negotiation, execution, amendment, and renewal.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including:
  • Pharmacy service agreements
  • Vendor and supplier agreements
  • GPO participation agreements
  • Software and data licensing agreements
  • Confidentiality agreements
  • Business Associate Agreements
  • Nursing Services Agreements
  • Collaborate closely with legal counsel, business development, operations, finance, and compliance teams to ensure contracts meet business and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain organized, searchable records of contracts and track key dates, deliverables, and obligations.
  • Provide guidance on contractual terms and risk mitigation strategies to internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement contract templates, playbooks, and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor contract compliance and support internal audits and due diligence efforts as needed.
  • Support training and education efforts regarding contract processes, approval workflows, and legal risk.
  • Such other duties as assigned from time to time by the Company.

Minimum Education, Certification and Experience/Skill Requirements:

Required:

  • Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience in legal or contract administration (at least 7–10 years preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare contracting, particularly within a pharmacy, GPO, or HIT environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of contract structure, legal terminology, and regulatory compliance considerations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and contract management systems (e.g., LinkSquares, DocuSign, SharePoint, etc.).

Highly Preferred Certification and Experience/Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal Studies, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Experience supporting a specialty pharmacy, infusion services, or healthcare provider organization.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulatory requirements including HIPAA, anti-kickback, and Stark Law.
  • Previous experience with cross-functional team leadership or project management.
  • This role may be remote or hybrid, depending on location and business needs.
  • Ability to work extended hours during critical contract periods or transactions.

Physical Demands:
