The Optum Compliance Director is responsible for being a strategic and subject matter leader directing and supporting all aspects of the Whole Health Solutions behavioral and related business lines compliance programs. As a key member of the compliance team, this position provides leadership and forward-thinking problem solving skills and serves as an escalation point of contact for employees on compliance matters. This role includes driving continuous improvement to both our compliance process as well as working with business partners to strengthen control environments to align to regulatory requirements.

Primary Responsibilities
- Champion strategic and forward-thinking problem solving in supporting behavioral and related product lines
- Develop/maintain product, services, regulatory, and operational knowledge for assigned businesses and products
- Provide solutioning and support for key regulatory implementation and remediation initiatives
- Champion and conduct annual compliance risk assessment and support business remediation as necessary
- Serve as strategic business partner by supporting development and revisions to applicable compliance, or operational policy and procedures
- Identify and deliver targeted compliance training and communications as indicated
- Provide subject matter expertise for compliance investigations, assessments, audits and reviews
- Manage business unit compliance committees (where required) and deliver periodic compliance updates to leadership
- Oversee remediation and corrective action plans, resulting from audits, compliance reviews, and self-identified issues
- Support compliance investigations and remediations, as needed
- Interface with client compliance officers and regulators as needed
- Review new/modified products and services to assure regulatory compliance
- Conduct compliance reviews of marketing materials, regulated documents and other external materials
- Support acquisition due diligence and manage compliance integration of acquired entities
- Partner with new and integrating entities to ensure effective compliance oversight and support

Required Qualifications
- Adept at understanding complex concepts and situations presented by the business environment
- Proven ability to drive cross-functional teams to deliver operational compliance
- Proven ability to think strategically and to translate strategic directives into tactical initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team and influence in a large, matrixed organization
- Demonstrated ability to assess complex problems and recommend the appropriate compliance solutions
- Demonstrated to be objective, collaborative approach. Ability to adapt in a dynamic and high-growth environment
- Demonstrated exceptional written, verbal, analytical, organizational, problem solving and presentational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate degree preferred in law, business, clinical or behavioral specialty
- Professional licensure or certification
- 5+ years of experience and demonstrated leadership in Compliance Program development/oversight/support
- Full-time management experience, providing direct supervision and guidance to a staff of 2 or more

The salary range for this role is $124,500 to $239,400 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
