Suntex Marinas Corporate Paralegal

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Legal support for enterprise-wide legal issues and initiatives, including:
  • Entity formation, entity management, and routine filings in all appropriate jurisdictions.
  • Permitting for all marinas, including food and beverage licenses.
  • Consents, resolutions, and approvals.
  • Board minute books and records and other corporate housekeeping matters.
  • Related entity compliance.
  • Signing authority.
  • Paperwork required by various regulatory bodies.
  • Draft legal correspondence, documents and forms.
  • Legal billing and invoicing.
  • Professional administrative legal support to in-house counsel and other business units.
  • Directly with outside counsel and other third parties.
  • Maintain a tracking system for corporate contracts and permits.
  • Service of process requirements and procedures.
  • General corporate tax-related matters, including W-9s and state sales and use taxes.
  • Creating processes and procedures for legal operations.
  • Identification, research, and management of relevant issues related to various compliance, corporate entity, REIT, and related matters.
  • Other special projects or tasks on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications

  • School Diploma (required)
  • Degree and/or Paralegal certification (preferred)
  • 2 years’ experience as a Paralegal (required)
  • Experience in a corporate legal department (preferred)
  • Eager to learn and grow
  • Assessing, revamping and creating processes
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet required deadlines
  • Exercise sound judgment
  • Attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Sharepoint a plus but not required
