POSITION OVERVIEW: Senior Contract Manager
The Senior Contract Manager is responsible for facilitating the formation and managing/coordinating the administration of the client contract throughout the life cycle of the construction projects. Provides administrative and operational oversight of construction contracts to ensure work is performed within the guidelines of the Client Contract.
The purpose of this position is to perform the essential contract management job duties and functions as listed below with the overall objective of establishing an execution framework on the project that complies with the contract and facilitates the safety, quality, value, timeliness, and profitability of the completed project.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support to business and execution units in the formation of contracts, including participating in the propose contract review, joint venture and/or subcontract partnering, and risk assessment process
- Facilitate smooth transition from award to execution with the support of the project team throughout life of a project
- Coordinate with the Legal and Risk Management departments to obtain and provide information regarding commercial issues, as well as coordinate with Commercial Project Management and Project Controls on commercial data analysis
- Review project correspondence to ensure clients rights are protected and that it is consistent with the terms of the contract
- Support Commercial Project Management and Project Controls in contract administration activities involved with change management/claims processes
- Assist Business Development in developing the contract summary in the proposal phase and then updating throughout the project in conjunction with the Project Director
- Participate in department management team reviews
- Work with the project team to identify and maintain the contract baseline
- Provide ongoing training in the various aspects contract management to project managers and to other key members of project teams to address contract management principles, subcontract formation and administration, identification, preparation and resolution of claims
- Work with Construction, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Legal, and Risk Management to assist in facilitating organizational interfaces between those performing subcontract formation and administration
- Ensure compliance to applicable client policy and procedure
- Maintain knowledge bank of clients Contract Management best practices
- Provide specialized troubleshooting to projects
- May be required to perform Contract Management duties if no Contract Manager is assigned to the project
- Goal is to work with procurement and subcontracts down the line, look at risk management and risk assessment, manage contracts, claims, claims resolution, and foster relationships with end clients.

QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of contracts management, legal, procurement & subcontracts, project controls experience preferred
- Expert experience in commercial project management, contracts management, legal, procurement & subcontracts, project controls experience
- Pre and post award construction contracts experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain/Purchasing, Business, Engineering or Construction Management or related field preferred
- Experience in reviewing, redlining and negotiating contracts for the construction, plant maintenance, and engineering consulting services industries
- Experience on the selling side & the purchasing side of contract administration
- Proficient Project Process Management
- Advanced Contract Comprehension required
- Significant experience working with engineering, procurement, and contractors
- EPC experience dealing with high profile/high budget projects
- Requires a comprehensive knowledge of industry business practices and management of contracts and subcontracts
- Experience in pricing, contracts law, contract drafting, administration and negotiation of change orders, risk identification and mitigation, planning, and scheduling
- Proficiency in the formation and administration of contracts and subcontracts through the several steps of bidder pre‐qualification, compilation of bid requests, receipt of bids, bid evaluation, award, monitoring the performance of contractors, back charge procedures, resolution of claims and disputes, and other such related steps
