Role Overview:
We are seeking a part-time Chief Legal Officer / Legal Advisor to provide strategic legal guidance across all facets of the business. This is an equity-only role (no cash compensation at this time) — ideal for an entrepreneurial legal professional who believes in our vision and wants to grow with us.
Time Commitment:
5–15 hours per week, flexible and remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary legal advisor to the CEO and leadership team.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts (vendor agreements, influencer partnerships, employment documents, NDAs).
- Provide guidance on corporate governance, compliance, IP/trademark protection, and risk mitigation.
- Support fundraising efforts (SAFEs, investor agreements, due diligence preparation).
- Advise on international growth strategies and sustainability compliance.
- Create and implement internal legal protocols as we expand.
Qualifications:
- J.D. degree and licensed to practice law in the United States.
- 5+ years of legal experience, ideally with startups, ecommerce, CPG, or fashion/retail companies.
- Strong background in corporate law, contract negotiation, IP, and fundraising.
- Prior experience advising early-stage or growth-stage startups preferred.
- Practical, business-minded, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, judgment, and critical thinking skills.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and interest in building a brand from the ground up.
Compensation:
- Equity-only (no salary or hourly rate at this time).
