Qualifications
Job Description

- Experience and proven successful track record in Operations management
- Strong financial acumen, experience in budgeting, forecasting, reconciling day to day finances
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS Outlook, in particular)
- An inventive mind with an ability to suggest improvements
- Previous experience working in a legal field or setting
- Strong analytical skills
- Management of client funds in a law firm setting with an understanding of the MD Rules of Professional Conduct
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or related field required
- A minimum of 8-10 years of senior management experience in business, finance, or a related field
Benefits
- Pay: $90,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
- The Business Operations Manager will support operational efficiencies and identify areas for improvement
- This position is vital for maintaining high operational standards and achieving the firm’s short- and long-term goals of providing legal excellence to its clients
- The Business Operations Manager will oversee the strategic and day-to-day operations of the firm, ensuring smooth and efficient processes across all departments and Practice Groups
- Responsibilities include financial and budget management, operational management, strategic planning, and staff management and training on operational procedures
- Additionally, this role will foster a communicative and collaborative work environment
- Financial and Budget Management
- Oversee the financial budget, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
- Provide leadership and senior-level management oversight across key functional areas, including accounting, front-end operations, and other critical positions and teams as determined
- Work collaboratively with Firm Executives on the strategic selection and negotiation of employee benefits programs, ensuring alignment with company goals, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance
- Prepare the organization's budget and manage financial operations, including billing, preparation of financial statements, management of reports, and collections
- Manage/Oversee contract and price negotiations with office vendors, service providers, and office lease
- Oversight in the operational function of monthly billing and accounts receivable management
- Draft and implement operational policies and practices to ensure quality services and efficiencies in best practices
- Reviews and analyzes current policies and practices to identify opportunities for improvement
- Communicates and trains all staff on operational directives, policies, and procedures
- Partner with HR to update and maintain office policies, as necessary
- Office Management and Culture
- Supervise and counsel support staff, coordinate with HR and leadership to ensure performance evaluations are aligned with the budget and financially sound
- Support staff management and training by teaching the firm's operational procedures to new staff and coordinating with IT on the new hire’s information system onboarding
- Support the HR department in the discipline and termination of staff as needed, in accordance with company policy and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
