Job Description

SHR Talent is partnering with a client near Dickson, TN in its search for a highly skilled and experienced Contracts Manager. As a leading provider in the defense industry, our client is committed to delivering cutting-edge solutions and services to support national security initiatives.

As the Contracts Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and vendors, addressing inquiries, resolving disputes, and fostering positive working relationships. A successful candidate for the Contracts Manager role will possess a demonstrated ability to negotiate complex contracts, analyze contract terms, and identify potential risks as well as exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, negotiate, and manage a diverse portfolio of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Review contract terms and conditions, identifying potential risks and proposing suitable mitigation strategies to protect the organization's interests
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, finance, and operations teams, to ensure seamless execution of contractual obligations and adherence to project timelines
  • Conduct thorough contract analysis, providing recommendations for contract modifications, amendments, and renewals, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Maintain contract databases and documentation, ensuring accurate record-keeping and easy retrieval of contractual information when required
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to contract management, and provide guidance and training to internal teams as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field
  • Master's degree, preferred
  • Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) or similar certification, a plus
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in contract management, preferably within the defense industry or a within a government contractor setting
  • Strong knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other relevant regulatory frameworks
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite
