Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Legal for Germany and Austria to join their team. The Head of Legal occupies a prominent position within the organisation, providing guidance and assistance to the legal department and throughout the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing an internal legal team in Germany and collaborating with external legal counsel in Germany and Austria.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various business contracts, focusing on development agreements such as service and commercial agreements, distribution agreements, leases, and construction contracts.
- Providing support to functions and entities on a wide range of legal matters including corporate and competition law, employment law, food law, administrative law, franchise law, and real estate.
- Ensuring compliance with local laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
- Representing the company in court, with local government authorities, and regulators.
- Acting as attorney in fact for the company, executing and formalizing contracts, corporate documents, and other legal instruments.
Requirements and qualifications:
- Completion of law studies (second state examination).
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
- Proficiency in contract negotiation and drafting across various levels of complexity.
- Experience in employment law.
- Preferred experience in consumer product industry, franchise, competition, and food law.
- Strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, risk management, problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and stakeholder management expertise.
- Demonstrated track record in managing and developing team members.
- Flexibility, dedication, reliability, and solution-oriented approach to work.
- Thorough understanding of German and European laws.
- Fluent in German (native proficiency) and advanced proficiency in spoken and written English.

The role will be full time in Munich, leading a team of three. Salary range will be €130,000- €140,000 fixed, but performance bonus is up to 25%.
